School Program

At present time, our school programming kit, as outlined in the French language tab of this webpage, is not available in the English language. However, Maison Gabrielle-Roy can accommodate a school tour in English using the Historic Tour format.

The HISTORIC TOUR:

The life of a French-Canadian family at the turn of the 20th century.

  • The tour highlights all the elements of the house, and enables the students to learn about Léon and Mélina Roy’s family and the lifestyle in Saint-Boniface in the 1900’s;
  • Interactive games and activities are geared at social studies and oral communication study program (for example, Western Colonization, changes through the years, and the art of story-telling).

Duration:

  • 60 to 120 minutes (dependent on the group’s schedule)
