LEON AND HIS HOUSE

Theater from here on your screens

La Maison Gabrielle-Roy is proud to present this short film filmed in Gabrielle Roy's birthplace, a national historic site, and produced in partnership with POP Comm'.

1923. The family residence of Canadian writer Gabrielle Roy opens its doors wide to the enigmatic patriarch Léon Roy, his story and that of his house that he cherished so much, rue Deschambault.

“Alphonse Tétrault embodies Gabrielle's father as I imagined him (very loving and full of anguish). It is very moving to finally hear this character tirelessly described as taciturn and erased in front of the flamboyant personality of [his wife] Mélina”.

   - Laurent Gimenez, translator

SCENARIO: Suzanne Kennelly

INTERPRETATION: Alphonse Tétrault

DIRECTION: POP Comm'

PRODUCED BY: Maison Gabrielle-Roy

Good viewing and place in the theater...
